About Gibroni’s Pizza – A Slice of Detroit in San Clemente

To know Gibroni's is to know the people behind the pie, Tony and Lindsey Gioutsos (pronounced YOU-chus).

After meeting at Grand Valley State University, we embarked on a new chapter, venturing through cities like Charlotte, North Carolina, and Austin, Texas, picking up new flavors along the way. Eventually, our family found our way to San Clemente, seeking a fresh start. However, we stumbled into a gap: the absence of Detroit-style pizza in Orange County.

Growing up in a family of restaurateurs going back as far as Macedonia, sharing our passion for good food is second nature. At the height of the first shut down, we decided it was time. We didn't even have a mixer, but we had customers and Faygo pop to pair with our pizzas. So we started slinging Detroit-style pies out of our home kitchen, set up tables in our driveway, and the rest is history. In no time, we had 50 reservations a night with neighbors waiting months to get slots.

What started out as a dream of sharing a piece of our history quickly became a 3-year journey that’s earned Gibroni’s a place among the top-rated new pizza spots in San Clemente. We take pride in serving up an authentic Motown experience. By day we are a go-to spot with great beer and even better pizza. By night, we are a lively hub of live music, friendly faces, and endless good times. We look forward to being the trailblazers of Detroit-style pizza in Orange County and beyond.
